An Introduction to Using the Arts in Therapy, Saturday 14th March 2015.
We shared some profound and intimate moments in today's training. Once again I am reminded of the power of creative process to get right to the heart of the matter. Along with developing arts facilitation skills and learning some simple, accessible techniques for use with clients in the counselling room; participants came away with personal experience of how working with images and metaphors can bring insight. There was also space for lots of play and laughter.
Jung defined therapy as... "less a question of treatment than of developing the creative possibilities in the patient himself". I believe that the more we can nurture and facilitate the innate healing potential within our clients, the more we empower them to make lasting positive change.
A big thank you to the courageous and open women who came today. It was a privilege and a joy to explore creative pathways with you.
